Okay so. A Solar Eclipse New Moon is rolling in on August 12, and we need to have a little chat before you go full chaos gremlin and try to manifest a new career, text your ex, quit your job, AND start a sourdough business all in one day.

We love you. That’s exactly WHY we’re saying: slow down, babe.

Eclipses are not the same as regular New Moons. This one sits on the South Node, which means the cosmos are not handing you a shiny new thing to grab. They’re asking you to release, to reflect, and to surrender some old story you’ve been dragging around like emotional carry-on luggage.

The good news? We’ve broken it all down for you. Two phases. Zero overwhelm. Plenty of truth bombs.

Days Before (August 9-11): Lower the Volume, Regulate, Notice.

The days leading up to an eclipse are genuinely weird in the best way. Your nervous system can feel it. Old feelings bubble up. Random stuff from three years ago shows up in your brain at 2am. This is normal. This is the point.

  • Lower the volume on unnecessary plans, scrolling, gossip, and emotional overstimulation
  • Regulate before you analyze: sleep, water, nourishing food, slow walks, deep breaths
  • Notice where you perform vs. where you’re actually being yourself (journal prompt below)
  • Clear one small space: a drawer, a lingering task, one minor obligation you’ve been avoiding. NOT your entire home office. ONE thing.
  • Write intentions as invitations, not demands. Try “I am open to discovering…” instead of “This MUST happen NOW” (the universe side-eyes that energy)

Eclipse Day (August 12): Move slow. Listen loud.

This is not the day to launch, confront, confess, or reinvent yourself by noon. The eclipse is doing the heavy lifting. Your job is to receive it.

  • Keep the day spacious. Move slowly. Skip the emotionally charged conversations.
  • South Node eclipses are about surrender, not summoning. Let things fall away.
  • Create a simple release ritual: write down one role, expectation, or validation pattern you’re ready to soften. Then safely tear it up. Gone. Bye.
  • Get into your body: sit outside with feet on the ground, take a bath, breathe deeply, do 10–15 minutes of meditation
  • Do NOT quit, confront, launch, confess, or make major decisions on eclipse day. Let the insights settle for at least 48–72 hours before you act on them.
  • Close with this question: “What would remain true about me even if nobody applauded…or ever saw?”

That last one? Sit with it. We mean it.
